BBMF Lancaster status

Just watched the BBMF Spitfire and Hurricane land at Hurn but haven’t seen the Lancaster arrive yet.

I know it had an engine problem the other week, but is it back flying yet?

hang on is Biggin Hill back on?

No. Biggin is sometimes used as a stopover point. It meant I got the Lanc over home on Sunday. 🙂

The Lancaster has just arrived at Hurn. 😎

Have to say I’m surprised to see it as it’s chucking it down here atm!

Well done lads. 🙂

I was hoping to see it, but unfortunately the wind is in the wrong dierection for where I live today! I heard the merlins though, so that’s something.

If the weather keeps up like this, I’ll be very suprised if the BBMF go ahead with their display. at 2.

Hopefully on its way in the morning, weather permitting. Had a snag from the weekend that wasn’t fixed until this afternoon.

That explains it then thanks.

The weather forecast is particularly bad for tomorrow so I’m not sure they’ll make it here then, but Friday is looking very favourable.

Thanks all.

It looked and sounded as perfect as ever when it took off from Biggin Hill on Sunday!

Yeah it was but that was after it had a technical issue earlier on Sunday. It taxied to take of but then headed back to the control tower.

Yeah, according to their Excel sheet, the Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane were due to display at Weymouth at 1.00pm and then land at Hurn ready for the upcoming airshow.

Was it actually scheduled to land today according to the BBMF website? Perhaps it has another commitment today.
