BBMF Photo thread I

I’m sure there will be a lot more of these photo threads today 🙂

A fantastic evening, for me the highlight was getting into the Lancaster. My Dad had a mate who used to be a wireless operator on lancs in the war, and to sit in that position, with the radios in front of me, and to find the Morse key at my right hand made all those stories seem very real indeed…

How much of the equipment in the Lanc is servicable?

Apparently the 1154 and 1155 radios are not wired in, so are in place for show only. Look great though 🙂

Cracking shots, one question though. Why is there an extension ladder hanging in the Lanc, is this some new window cleaning initiative?

Apparently it’s used for servicing/checking/reaching the engines when they are away from Coningsby.
