Had a wonderful day out at the Linconshire Lancaster Associations Members Day yesterday. Only one Hurricane and a Chipmunk made it in in the morning but the day passed pleasantly chatting to the other members, ground crew and volunteers.
The Lancaster was stuck at Waddington since an E3 sentry had spilt hydraulic oil on the runway rendering it unusable until cleaned up, and the wind was marginal for the fighters to say the least. Anyhow by 16:00 hrs the wind had dropped sufficiently for the fighters+ Dakota to get off from Barkston Heath and join up with PA474 for some fantastic flying, (pity I cannot post the sound of this lot too!!:D )

Yes, it was FlyPast that used them this month, got a nice letter from them in the post this morning returning my disc’s and indicating payment would follow latter.
Wouldn’t expect payment from the BBMF, as a member of the Lincolnshire Lancaster Association I’ll just be pleased if they decide to use any of them.
That was nice and quick, post obviously still working in Lincolnshire!!

Sorry to say it Gareth but the BBMF official statement on that would most likely be “Due to current financial constraints we are unable to pay anything for them” In other words thanks very much for some free PR pics

Ah thanks, standard ‘news’ type ones then, rather than the moody stuff.
Deputy Editor Jarod Cotter saw the original post and mailed me to ask if they could use one or two, so I sent them a CD.
Wonder if the cheque is in the post then 😀 , (mind you I’ve been waiting 2 weeks for some prints of the display I ordered, flippin’ postal strike!! )

Out of curiosity which one did they use? I’m working all weekend so won’t be able to get to smiths ’till Monday.

It was very good to be there!!!!
Only problem was the few people who seemed to think that the day was specifically for Lincs Lancs members, without taking into account the weather, and the availability of the runway. BBMF did a really good job in getting the a/c back despite the weather. I believe that the vast majority who stayed were treated to 20 mins of very good and tight displays, especially when the Lanc came roaring over the hangar!!!! from the opposite direction that people were looking.
