BBMF Spitfire lands at Lashenden (Headcorn )

BBMF Spitfire AB910 visited Lashenden today to refuel after a display at Eastbourne. This was the first time a BBMF aircraft had landed at Lashenden and is a precursor to them bringing in 2 Spitfires & 2 Hurricanes for the Battle of Britain show on Saturday 11th July.

I don’t know who books aeroplanes into Headcorn (a parish that collected two Bf109s during 1940, a very appropriate place for a BoB show), but I admire their ability. I will freely confess that last summer, as I watched a sight I had never thought I’d see begin its run in (I’m sure you can guess what I refer to), I was blinking back the tears.

Who on earth had the chutzpah to book the Lancasters for an event of that size? Whoever you are, I take my hat off!

Looks great – especially with the prop and exhaust set-up.
