BBMF staying at Coventry

Members and visitors alike at the Midland Air Museum, were today treated to a low level fly past by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, after performing at the Town and Country Festival at Stoneleigh Show Ground.

The flight, consisting of the Lancaster, Mk9 Spitfire and PR19 Spitfire, arrived at dead on 1500hrs, the time we were told they will arrive and performed a series of low formation fly pasts above the show ground, before turning back towards Coventry airport.

The formation then turned over the A45 and came straight down runway 23 at 500ft altitude. The two Spitfires then broke formation and turned on the downwind leg followed by the Lancaster shortly after. All three aircraft then landed at Coventry, where they will remain for the rest of the Bank Holiday weekend.

They will be displaying at the Town and Country on Sunday and Monday, but it is not known what time they will depart for each display. It is presumed they will fly at 1500hrs as of today.

I saw a BAe Hawk today. I think it was red

What a coincidence. I saw 10 of them yesterday, all parked in a nice neat line at Exeter airport.

Look forward to seeing it robmac.

They were at Dunsfold today also.

Nice tailchase routine by the Spits which was a change.

Lanc was wonderful as usual and quite a few sections of the crowd gave a round of applause during their final pass.

Cheers

A correction to the original first thread I did is that it now appears the BBMF will not be appearing at the Town and Country on Monday. It was only Saturday and Sunday. We were however treated to a nice formation takeoff by the two Spitfires, followed by the Lancaster, after which they then formated and all three done a nice low level flyby, before departing. Wonderful stuff!!

I have it on video and will upload it as soon as I can 😉
