Nice photos people, thanks for allowing us to enjoy the as well. Sounds like BAe have been reading the Government Guidelines for getting things right then.

Last I heard, it was along the lines of BAe would only sanction the fitting of an original production one.

Probably because they didn’t trust themselves to be able to make one up correctly, as they obviously don’t know what a production drawing is for anymore….. 😉 😀

Edited: Lancman and I are obviously on the same wavelength and posting time 😀

Well following their mess-up with the turret fairing, I’d say they don’t always know best then!

It’s a good point raised about an H2S radome actually; asides from the costs of course, I’ve never quite understood what it is stopping one being made and fitted?

what mark is the one in the middle that looks like a spares ship?

Do you mean this one? This pic is nearly a year old, but it’s TE311, one of the ex – RAF Exhibition Flight Mk.XVIs

Can’t they sneakily make an H2S radome too, and say it’s an original Avro one? 😉

That sounds like a good idea, how about it Paul 😀 😀

BAE are not making the fairing this time, its our friends on the IOW with original drawings supplied by BBMF and unlike last time they are using them!!!!!

Cheers for the answer, Fluffy; hope BAE get it right this time- third time lucky!

Maybe that round thing in picture 1 is some sort of new air-con fan blower for the hangar? Someone said it was an engine, but I couldn’t see it myself!

Mrs Fluffy here, Stewart, how can you call my husband ‘a fat lump’. I take great offence at this as he is one of the most svelte, fit members of BBMF.

Frequently to be found jogging round the base, bench presses in the hangar, no, you simply cannot call my man ‘fat’ or a ‘lump.

Others maybe……. Fluffy, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

because when BAE made the replacement 3yrs ago they didn’t fit any of the internal strengtheners and the fairing has cracked badly due to this.

The mid upper fairing is being replaced again!!! because when BAE made the replacement 3yrs ago they didn’t fit any of the internal strengtheners and the fairing has cracked badly due to this, hopefully the new one will be better.
