I think my eyes must be playing up but on the departures board at 18.00 is a bmi flight to LHR!! Obviously not a regular flight but nice to see on the departures board again!! Does anyone know what the flight is for? I assume its a positioning flight but it doesn’t seem to carry a positioning flight code.

Its BD9341
BD flight numbers…
9 = non-rev
3 = day three (Wed)
4 = ? – I think that’s empty ferry for pax services (different value for other reasons – positioning for engineering, etc)
1 = first flight of type for day

Thanks for the info Cloud 9. This must be a first for Jet 2 at LHR!
Indeed, I believe it is…shame its so dark outside now, otherwise I would have been tempted to have gone up there to get a photo of it!

Its BD9341. Seems strange to charter to LHR. I didn’t think that BD would be able to get any extra slots for a one off charter.
Right, I have just managed to find out from a source that its actually a Jet2 Boeing 757 thats positioning down to LHR in order to operate a flight to Saudi Arabia, assume its operating the LHR-Saudi sector on behalf of BD, hence why the BD flight no. on the LBA-LHR sector too.;)

Could be a private charter, especially if it has a flight no. BD7000 – BD8999?
