Legendary Beneš Mráz Be-50 Beta Minor from 1935 is flying again. It is new build aircraft but made in original way and on original documentation base from 1935… piece of czech and european history is alive…

Terrible, just terrible, sentiments with DH82EH as well. 🙁
Just now saw this thread, asking about the registration, “OK-EAA”. Did the EAA help in building it?

Hi All,
RIP to those who lost their life and ditto what DH82EH has put.
Geoff.

Very sad to hear this aircraft and its pilot were lost last Saturday in an accident during an airshow at Strunkovice…

A lovely-looking machine. Thanks for telling us about it.
It would be a delight to see in English skies but it’s an awfully long way.

Was trying to find the date of the first flight but so far unable.
Hi Newforest, Google Translate gives this translation for the first paragraph in the link the OP gave –
Historic aircraft Czechoslovak firms Benes – Mraz Be- 50 , which was in the form of a replica built in recent years in the context of the Military History Institute , has completed the first official ago. Held in Friday, May 22, 2015 at the airport in Mlada Boleslav and at a total of five takeoffs and landings , no problems
I think the “first official ago” may be the same as the first flight!

Anyone think it was a Hawk Major? No, O.K. Was trying to find the date of the first flight but so far unable. An early photo, looking complete and ready for flight, was dated Apr. 2013.

You’ll have to ask the Czechs to change the registration mark to OK-LAA. Two deft brush strokes are all that is required!

Ha! Yes, I think it would go down well at Oshkosh!
Adrian
or the LAA rally at Sywell? Would go well with Mew Gull replica HEKL, Comper Swift replicas G-ECTF & G-LCGL, Mystery Ship G-TATR and maybe a few others. How about a replicas fly in???

Maybe its registration mark gives some indication of the place it intends to visit? Somewhat further afield than Old Warden!
By: adrian_gray - 15th July 2015 at 21:28
Absolutely – thank you for posting, what a little cutie.
It needs to visit Old Warden… though I think that might be a long flight!
