A very interesting set of pictures of 307(Polish) Squadron RAF can be found at http://www.polishairforce.pl/dyw307zdj.html
It details the men and aircraft from Defiants in 1940 to Mosquito NF XXXs in 1945
I am building a a model of Beaufighter EL154 (EW-Z “Zocha” of S/L Jerzy Damasz as shown in picture 29), and have one rather simple question: does the aircraft have the flat or dihedral tailplanes? I had assumed that all Mk.VIfs had the dihedral units, but I’ve found rather conflicting information: Indeed the contemporary X8005 (EW-R) is shown in period pictures with both tailplanes, so presumably they were retrofitted at some point. Picture 29 at the above link is the only shot of EL154 I can find that has the tail in view at all, but so little of the tailplanes are visible it is rather hard to judge which units are fitted. I am inclined to say the angled ones, as it looks like there might be a kink in the leading edge, and they don’t quite look like they’re parallel with the inner wing section. (i.e. at 90 degrees to the fin)
However, I am no expert on Beaufighters, and can’t tell for sure. Any thoughts?

Thanks! This was what I was expecting, but not what I wanted to hear! I’ll need to take a razor saw to my model now…. 😮
I’d not seen the full version of this shot: just the trimmed pic of the pilot, os thanks for posting 🙂

Flat as a pancake, as in the Tech Mod decal sheet.
