Beaulieu autojumble

A friend of mine attended beaulieu autojumble on the 14th May 2017 and stated that it was very good for aircraft parts. I seem to recollect similar comments being made in the past on this forum. Some of the items he acquired are pictured below, the unknown throttle quadrant has a partial part number of 50967. The electro mechanical firing button is allegedly from a Westland Whirlwind?
Can any one I’d the throttle box for him ?
Has anyone else been to this event and found similarly good items ?
Personally I may have to give it a try next year.

Blimey! We’re going to have to start carrying piles of cash round in a wheelbarrow…

…if the ‘hyperinflation’ carries on like this! :eagerness:

Glad you got some nice stuff from me. I did bang out stuff cheaply. But would rather see it go to appreciative homes like you!

But some great stuff at that and very well priced.

I was pretty much annoyed with myself for missing out on the boxed pipsqueak item that you was selling, the same person who brought the gun button managed to get hold of that also.
oh well there’s always next time.

Also pleased with the Ju88 tail wheel relic item that i purchased, as this type of item is right down my street, as rather than boxed new items never been used i prefer the relic that looks like its been there and that certainly had been.

Hi Rocketeer
I can now put a face to you as i was there at the time you sold the gun button to a Gentleman at old Sarum.

Incidentally im going to attempt researching this week, the 2 blue boxes of relics you sold me at a very good price certainly going to keep me busy.

I think it was Guy Black who found the substantial remains of a Comper Swift at Beaulieu some years ago. The believe the seller had brought it over from France.

I’ve never been but I am tempted to go, having heard some rather good stories about items found there.

Anon.

Lol Rocketeer !! A 24 hour period is not too bad a turnaround, your story reminds me of occasions at Shoreham when I’ve seen items sold several times over in the same day, jumping from stall to stall each time with an inflated price and perhaps a different provenance.

The golden event at Beaulieu was always the September Autojumble.

I attended the spring event a few times but gave it up due to a combination of great distance/cost/low returns/poor attendance/junk stalls. i.e. it just wasn’t worth it.

I’ve heard recently that the spring event has grown in stature, ironically, just as the autumn event has started to decline. There are a number of factors involved, cost being one of them.

I no longer regard the autumn event as being worth the effort if you’re looking for aircraft parts – I can’t recall the last time I discovered anything of merit. Maybe the one to watch is now the spring ‘jumble?

That’s an electro-pneumatic firing unit by the way.

My goodness! That is a quick turnover! The block thingy came from my stall at old Sarum on Saturday 13th May. I sold it for a princely £1! Then it made its way to Beaulieu the next day. When I got it, it had the back of a gun button in it, which I used on a grip. Not sure where the Whirlwind story came from….not me.
