This flew in a few days ago and was due to depart today, but I finished work at 5pm and took these pics, so I don’t think it left..

Keep going, Philip! You’ll get there 🙂 Keep us updated on your progress, it would be nice to see how you get on.
newforest, you’re right, the reg is at the back, just below the horizontal stab. 🙂

N45CF was also at the Waddington show on Sunday along with a newly restored Auster 5 ,G-AIKE/NJ728.
It certainly gets about, this year and last!
Was going to put my foot in it and ask whether it was legal to fly with no visible registration, but it is very small on the rear fuselage. 😮

Still plodding along – maybe next year – said that last year and the year before etc.
nice pics – those high cabin 18’s just look a bit odd to me. good old D models and lower for me
🙂
Philip, keep at it!! 🙂 You’ll get there eventually and i’m sure there are alot of enthusiasts looking forward to it 🙂
cestrian, Nice shots there. Thats good news on the Auster 5. 🙂

I feel guilty for not knowing of you, Philip. Good luck with your restoration project! Would be nice to see it drop into Cranfield at some point when you get it flying!
You are right, the one at Cranfield is N45CF, it’s going to Fairford. I don’t know if it has left today or not though as i’m at home.

Philip Turland. He’s been fannying around, oh sorry I meant restoring to flight one of Sandy Topen’s Beech 18s for the last 20 years or so. His one was in a sorry state at Cranfield in the early 1990’s. Being serious, he and his team have done an excellent job on their one, which is at Bruntingthorpe. Engines are now running too. I feel flight is a distinct possibility!

Thanks guys. I’m so glad it didn’t depart as I spent all day sitting there thinking I could hear it starting up only to see a Cessna or Piper taxi by. Then when I finished work the sun came out too, so I was definitely in luck!! 🙂
Banupa, who is Philip? I confess I don’t know many peoples real names on here.

Nice one, but don’t tell Philip, or may have a seizure!

That is a beautiful thing. Straight out of a 1940s movie.
