Came across this on Flickr earlier
http://www.flickr.com/photos/geoffsphotos/292283097/
A gorgeous Beech 18 in the very nice USN colours (can’t possibly think why i’d find those colours attractive 😀 ), apparently from the filming of Memphis Belle – does anyone know any more about this? At first I thought it’s the Duxford Beech G-BKGL, but seeming as that’s in the same photoset, it’s presumably G-BKGM, now in RAF SEAC colours.
Anyone no any more? Don’t remember seeing an L4 Grasshopper or this http://www.flickr.com/photos/geoffsphotos/292283095/in/set-72157594291327242/ in the film either, so could just be they were around Duxford at the time of filming so the photographer thought they were involved.
Cheers, Rob

In all the articles read and vids watched of the making of Memphis Belle Ive never once heard the Beech been mentioned not even as a camera ship.
I will probably be proven wrong but maybe just there on the day??????
G-BKGL Beech 18-3TM was and remains based at duxford long before the film was made, and it was obviously out on the ramp at duxford on the day the photographer visited, It did not take any part in the filming of Mephis Belle.
the second photo is also G-BKGL after a repaint a couple of years later.

That pic is G-BKGL
In fact both of them are so it seems that one of them is captioned incorrectly.
Also one of the pic’s shows Sally B with a chin turret which had been removed so one or two of the pic’s were taken at a later date.
