Beech Photo

How much different are these Beech’s from the Lockheed 10/12 ?
From a distance (and my untrained eye !!) they look d*mn near identical.

ok folks – here is a picture of the B25 at the museum in Montevideo + a couple more B18’s

As this thread is getting long with a lot of pictures I will start a thread on each of the museums in Rio, BA and Montevideo.

Bottom is in Montevideo 1996 (same trip as top) yes it is a B25 behind and I will post a pic soon. Sadly much of the museum collection was lost in a fire shortly after) Also visited Buenos Aries and the museum at Jorge Newbury Aeropark airport – I could post some from here if interested (has a nice Avro Lincoln)

Top pic was taken in 1996 Campo D’alfonso in Rio – home of Brazillian AF museum. I have a slide of a Chilean AF B18 taken at the same place (can scan and post if interested)
Middle is in Instanbul – Turkish AF Museum 1998 (loads of pics from here)

Hi Ben – thanks for posting – same scheme as ours – but we think she is G-BKGL now owned and operated by ARCO at Duxford – in the background to the lower shot is our former spares ship G-BKRG in happier days – this is the ex-Octopussy aircraft now with the Aviodome….

I’m not sure if this is flown in the US or Canada, The Geneseo Air shows can be confusing like that. Can anyone give me an ID on this aircraft?

YEP – that has the original engines from our aircraft – we asked EF is we could have a close look at her to see where the engine pipe fittings etc were – they agreed, we turned up (and that is a LONG journey from Leicester), they refused.

As such we are right miffed with EF!

Edited to add two more, is it just me or does a nosewheel just look wrong on a Beech? 😎

#3 is N26035 seen at Fort Pierce, FL, #4 is N136L which was seen at Sebastian, FL in 2002.

NOOOOO!!!! Nosewheels on Beeches are the work of Satan :diablo: Volpar=yuk!

Why not put the only Icelandic Beech on here. It is a C-45H, 52-10672 and has been here from 1968. First as an airliner and later in civilan ownership. It is maintained in airworthy condition, but very rarely flow, usually only once or twice a year.

There was another Beech in Iceland, TF-BVB which came to Norway in 1961 to be operated by Nor-Fly. Is there anyone on Iceland that you can think of who might know more about this plane, and its use before going to Norway?

Willy – sorry it’s taken ten years but the Beech at Cannes is F-BUOP which is an E18S with a construction number of BA-184.
