Well, there’s pic of the day so why not “beer of the week”? Here is one, it’s delightful Kwak from the Bosteels brewery in Belgium. It’s an ale, coppery brown colour and needs to be served as cold as a lager to enjoy it fully. Also, if you drink this beer in Belgium, it is served in a round-bottomed glass which is held in a wooden stand. It’s worth ordering a Kwak just for the glass it comes in.

Moosehead is a very good beer. The strongest beer I have ever drunk was a 21% beer called Dogfish Head Worldwide Stout. The strongest Belgian beer I have had is Bush (12%). The strongest European beer I have drunk is Sammi Claus, an Austrian Christmas beer at 15%.

He he, all beer is brown water, i’ve tried beers all over the world and there’s good and bad beers in all countries, one of my personal favourites is Moosehead from Nova Scotia
I’ve probably tried more beers than you’ve had hot dinners ( cheers )

Newcastle Brown is a weak beer and like brown water compared to some of the beers I regularly drink.

I had a visit to Brussels on Wednesday for a few hours to do some beer shopping.
I bought some beauties which you cannot get in the wasteland where I live – namely Sloeber, Ename, Tongerlo, Ciney, Brugs and Rochefort 6. We’ve already drunk the Rochefort, the Sloeber is for my birthday drink.

BUT DID YOU ENJOY IT?
Oops! Sorry – I’ll try not to shout next time, promise!;)

Interbrew is thinking of moving to another country to avoid taxes, however, the breweries themself would remain in Belgium.
Yesterday drank a couple of delerium tremens. I feel like an opneemvod today 🙁

Ooooh – beer!
I’ve demolished a couple of bottles of Adnams Broadside (6.3% ABV) this week, and I thoroughly enjoyed them both. 😀

RE: Beer of next Week
Thanks for the Australian beers, apart from Foster and Castlemaine XXXX, they are almost impossible to get over here. I did once find a Tasmanian beer called “James Boag” in a shop in Knaresborough, where I do my beer shopping, but I’ve only seen it once, and it is nice.

RE: Beer of next Week
My Saturday beer was Grolsch Herfst Bok, I made the mistake of assuming it would be a pils type and shoved it in the fridge for a 36 hour chilling. Only when I opened it did I realise it was a lovely dark beer which I had completely “killed” the taste of (like Leffe Brune, this Grolsch is totally ruined by chilling).
My Mum took the sensible option and had a Gulden Draak, which of course I know not to chill.
I am trying to find a decent picture of my favourite French beer to post, but no luck yet (its “1664”, never to be confused with “Kronenbourg 1664” which is brewed in the UK for the UK market and is not as strong as the proper French version).

RE: Beer of next Week
My favourite beer of the week is … whatever i’ll drink tonight. Quality is not important, as long as there’s enough of it.
I already placed a bucket next to my bed, in case … :7
