And these are what it was like today, as you can see the chain link fence at the bottom was slowly encompassed in water, I am glad the house is raised a tad

It’s a slightly different story for us in Reading. We were affected by the floods of 2000, and again by the recent flooding. We had about 2 feet of water throughout the ground floor of the house. Here are some shots from yesterday and today…

I hope your model collection was saved, and I’m so glad I live on the top flat up a hill ! Mind you as much as we’ve shared the deluge, it’s fair to say the flood prevention scheme installed around town after our experience in 1995 seems to be holding good so far…

T’other fire engine is out of view! Could not get out of the house at its highest. Only the garage got flooded, so just soggy cycles etc although the welder has bought it! Next door and next door but one not so lucky. 2 to 3 inches in their houses and floorboards ripped up to pump out the footings. Not the first time this flooding has happened, but never to this extent. I’m counting my blessings.

And here are we on the opposite side of the globe suffering from the greatest drought in this country’s history..we can only water the garden twice a week between 7 -8.. no car washing at at all.. and we’re taking one minute showers

Jonesy, no issues really mate, all I know is that it’s a really bad idea to keep goldfish down there HAHA, all it does is deposit alot of crap on the lawn (probably does it good actually), the house isn’t affected as it’s quite high up. if the house get’s flooded then the whole SW of England are in the proverbial S**t LOL

Unbelievable…sorry that you’ve taken such a hit Deano – looked like a nice garden. On the bright side though at least you get out of mowing the lawn for a bit?:eek::cool:
