As part of a possible air cadet activity can anyone out there send me a copy of the Before Flight Servicing for a JP Mk3 i believe it will be in the flight servicing schedule mm 5B1 might be wrong and if anyone has a copy of the F705 and F725 pages for a JP too so they can pretend to sign for it in a simulated Form 700
I also need some illustrations on correct marshalling hand signals for a presentation connected with the above

This may be of help.
Hi Matt
I have a copy of an A.P.101B-2304-1, Jet Provost Mk.4 General and Technical Information Manual, on CD-Rom.
Section 2, Ground Handling and Preparation for Flight, section 2, preparation for flight may be of some help to you.
I would be happy to post a copy off to you if you PM me an address, if it helps. I also have Pilot’s notes and the electrical manual on CD-Rom as well if you want copies.
The most important item on any JP pre flight is the pre oiling of the engine main bearings, it must be done every time the engine has not been run for 21 days, as the oil drains away into the tramp oil tank. Every single ex RAF, JP fitter we ever met drilled this into us, without it, the engine will be trashed in no time at all.
As you know, Max and I have quite a bit of JP expirience, so if we can be of help, please ask. And send that address if you want the disc’s.
Best wishes,
Ritch Blood.

The CAA’s CAP637 has illustrations on marshalling –
http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/CAP637.PDF
Doesn’t cover stuff like “bomb doors open” but that shouldn’t be a problem on a JP

Hi Matt
As an ex CI, the Cadet ACP does cover some marshalling signals and techniques, however there used to be an Air Diagram that covered the most common signals to be used. Have a word with Cottesmore APFS to see if they can ident it for you.

As a former RAF Cranwell Jet Provost Handling Flight liney for 5 years (1974 – 79) all you need paperwork wise is a ‘fag packet’ and pen to record the fatigue figures and fuel load. As far as marshalling signals goes why not invent your own – we did! Loosley based on what the manual said! :diablo::diablo::D

No wonder your pilots could never understand us at Linton when they visited, we did it the right way…..:D:D:D
