I had the honour of interviewing Brian Smith recently to discuss the planning and execution of Duxford’s big September Spitfire sequence – Brian was the formation leader in Spitfire MH434. The resultant article is linked above and delves into the logistics of putting together a 17 aeroplane air display of this scale, including the CAA’s input post-Shoreham.
