Belfast Harbour

I’m curious to find out the operating procedures of Belfast City’s single runway. When aircraft have received clearance to taxi to runway 22 for departure should they request take-off clearance at Hold A1 or taxi onto the runway to the top of runway 22 and then request clearance for departure? Surely a parallel taxiway would be far more effecient than the current situation…

102 is the belfast gate. Rarely changes but always same lounge. Its in the cul-de-sac in the corner on T1.

While on the topic of BHD, what gate(s) are used by bmi at Heathrow for their flights to “the City”?

They just started construction work on it. The issues with adding further extension to taxiway including that it would cut into the nature reserve beside airport and then the wing of an A321 wud be just about over the fence of the “holywood exchange” which is beside IKEA site but already exists and goes up to the Airport boundary fence.

An airways clearance is given at the city while the aircraft taxis to A1. When the aircraft backtracks they are given a departure clearence. This is what usually happens but it can vary between who’s in the tower and who’s in the cockpit. And i don’t think there is a enough room for a parallel taxiway. The free land that was there has been taken up by Ikea.
