as rumors here in belgium has been circulating about the possible purchase of 10 to 12 NH90 helicopters, it now appears that the Belgian goverment is intended to sign an agreement for the order off these wonderfull new Heli’s.
the purchase was orriginaly to be made in 2008, but since the 5 westland Seaking mk48 have become aged and verry expencive to maintain (only 1 was opperational at the beginning off 2005) the gouverment has announced that the replecement was going to be purchased this year. If the deal is made, then the NH90 will replace both the seaking and the Navy 3 allouette III helicopters. the dissision is expected to be made on Juli 20, the day before the belgian independence day.
if anyone asks where i got this message, a good friend of my friend has written a letter to NH Industries in order to get some more information about this rumor, apparently, i would like to thank him for writting that letter 🙂
