Bell RP-63G Pinball? Piloted target aircraft?

Just came across a model kit on ebay of this aircraft. It’s come as a massive suprise as I never thought anyone would be a willing target.

Have searched online but there doesn’t seem to be a massive amount of information on this flying target for heavy bombers :S

Anyone with any further information and photo’s is welcomed
