Well those Christian Voice people seem to have a firm grip on reality…

Interesting debate, slightly different angle than the usual argument but nothing there to make me change my opinion ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Not surprised.

It still works for me here in the US… Wonder if it’s banned over there.

Here’s some links to the mp3 version…

Not sure about Boris intentions regarding atheists, but bendy buses are going and a new version of the routemaster is on the drawing board ๐Ÿ˜‰

This, is good.

I nearly got flattened by a bendy bus in Town today. Damned things shouldn’t be allowed.

At least that’s what I believe. ๐Ÿ™‚

“Baldness is a hair colour in and of itself.

It is hairyness in non-hairyness.”

See what I did there?

Gray – if you left the “is a hair color in and of itself, your statement might be considered accurate. However, the moment you introduced the “hair color” you messed it up. It’d be like my saying that gasoline is a form of solid in and of itself – it’s solidity in non-solidity. That makes absolutely no sense at all and I’m not sure how it’s supposed to relate to the stuff I posted.
BTW – yes you should skip the first 7 minutes or so. It’s been a while since I reviewed the first part of the tape. The best part is towards the end.

Do atheists need โ€˜faithโ€™ since they simply need to prove gods do not exist?

How exactly does one prove that something doesnโ€™t exist anyway?

Err, atheists don’t need to prove God doesn’t exist, why would we?

I respect your opinion, but i think, with due respect you missed my point.

I am personally pretty agnostic, I like my perch upon the fence. To me however athiesm, and it’s proponents are as strong in their faith in “nothing” as religious people are in their faith in “god”. To me that is irony of the highest order.

Cheers

Of course I also respect your opinion, but I think you have missed my point, you can’t have faith that something doesn’t exist, you either believe something exists or you don’t, as I have yet to see any evidence of a God or Gods I do not believe they are likely to exist, if someone produces some evidence for a God or God’s then I will change my stance,as I believe any atheist would, that’s not faith or religion.

This is incorrect.

These are the principal features of a religion:

  • A belief in the existence of a supernatural being or beings.
  • A distinction between the sacred and the profane.
  • Codified rituals that are focused on sacred objects and/or places.
  • A revealed moral code which is held to have divine authority.
  • Feelings of awe which tend to be associated with sacred objects, sacred places and sacred rituals.
  • Prayer and other forms of communion with a god or gods.
  • A community bound together by all, or most, of the above.

ALL of these are absent from atheism, which is the simple and outright denial of the existence of gods of any kind. Faith does not enter into the equation in any way, shape or form.

Hmmm… Well, for starters try listening to this debate:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6iEUanJbsw

Have fun with that!

Ryan

But skip the first 7:00 minutes of part 1 (of 14) as the debate doesnโ€™t start till then…

…and having listened that far Iโ€™m not sure I have the strength for all 14 parts!

What a load of rubbish, do you believe in Leprechauns or fairies at the end of your garden, if not then according to you, your religion is not believing in Leprechauns or fairies.

LOL, but not an accurate analogy and flawed – “Is a hair color in and of itself”.

Ryan

Explain the flaw, please.
