Bentwaters Cold War Museum are holding their main Open Day on Sunday 16th of June,2013 to comemorate 20 years since the USAF withdrew from the airfield.
Flying will be Carolyn Graces Spitfire ML407 and Mark Daveys Yak-3M (weather and serviceability permitting) also a flypast by a RAF Sea King has been arranged.
On static display will be Phantom FGR.2 XV497 and flying-in for static display are a pair of Ryan Navions.
Guided coach tours of the usually off limits part of the airfield (to view the bomb dump,H.A.S area,hush house,star wars building etc) will be running during the day. Woodbridge A.T.C will be there with their excellent bbq if you fancy a nibble and there will also be a ground running Rolls-Royce Merlin on a trailer.
Stalls from other museums will be here as well as classic cars,military vehicles,fire engines and Harley-Davidson motor bikes and of course the Museum will be open for inspection.

It didn’t realize there was so much to see in the museum.
We spent an hour and a half in there, and didn’t see everything.
It’s a shame that by the time the SeaKing flew past, most people had left.

Hopefully we’ll go. As we haven’t been since the very last open day.
Weather forecast isn’t brilliant, may have to make a late decision, as its a 70mile trip.

Shame this is on at the same time as Cockpitfest as i would of liked to of gone, hey ho :(. Hoping its a great day for the museum and its supporters.
