Bergerac Episode – Messerschmitt Bf.110

Watching & surfing Saturday morning T.V.today & saw this…

An episode of ‘Bergerac'(John Nettles), fighting frogmen around the canopy frame of an Me.110

It was clearly a Bf.110, no mistake, I’ve made enough ‘110 kits over the last 50-years.
(most notably the recent Eduard & the 1994 Pro-Modeller ‘110, both in 1/48th scale).

Filming showed the hinged top hatch AND the mid-latter portions of the canopy too.
(Easily identifiable).

The programme & episode gumpf (seen AFTER I’d recognised it), reads as follows…

(Episode title)
“Late for a Funeral”.
Vintage crime cracking with Midsomer Murders star John Nettles. Bergerac investigates the death of a skin-diver, who is found with a Luftwaffe pilot’s body.

Looked pretty decent to me, BUT, it’s bound to be a ‘mock-up’ (replica)

Or is it ???

Given how ancient that series seems today, is there ANY outside chance it WAS a genuine wreck ???

Cynic in me says “not a chance”, but, it was damn-well replicated.

Anyone else see the episode this morning, or, even remember it ?

Replica-‘mock-up’, or, the “real-deal” in wrecked form ?

And seems to have happened in Monarch of the Glen tv series where a convincing mock up of a 110 was used in an episode, later displayed at the Cairngorm mountain station and then auctioned off.
