Hello,
Last year (2011) I took some picture in Berlin.
The first three pictures are taken at Berlin Tempelhof (THF) now closed.
All other pictures are taken at Berlin-Gatow (GWW) closed – in bad weather.
Here is the German Airforce museum.

I think the white Mi-8 is Eric Honecker’s personal transport which I got a flight in at the last RAF Gatow show

ex Egyptian AF Su-17/20
Good fotos despite the rain.
They have an amazing collection, but as can be seen the weather is not treating them well.
When the Luftwaffe Museum was at Uetersen/Hamburg there was not enough space for all the exhibits.
There move to Gatow/Berlin gave them that extra space which was good once all the East German (DDR) aircraft began to arrive.
An “odd man out” of the russian aircraft is the Su-17/20 which came in a deal from Egypt.
At this time the East German AF was receiving the Su-22.
It was throughly tested in Manching/Ingolstadt.

Fascinating collection. Canberra 99+35 visited Fairford for the IAT a couple of times.
