Hi all,
Does anyone of you on the forum know what happened to the full size Lancaster cockpit section that Bernie Salter built in the eighties?
It was featured in FlyPast around 1984 or so.
Cheers

Thanks for that – after googling and reading up more that’s quite a stunning restoration – not a replica…. 🙂

Apologies for adding to this, but it’s the most relevant thread I could find…
Any idea who owns this one appearing at War & Peace show this year?
(Appears right at the start of the Video Clip)
I just love the sheer presence of it

There are three chaps in the uk who have done this, Bernie Salter, Norman Groom and Jeremy Hall. Bernie Salter had a full article in Flypast in ’84 and Jeremy Hall was featured in a two page article in the late 90s I believe.

Here we go, not Bernie Salter, but actually someone else has been at it as well !!

There is an excellent wesite about a replica Lancaster forward fuselage constructed by a collector of antique radios to display his lancaster units in. It was quite recently unpdated. I don’t know if this is the same one. I’ll see if I can find it.

HP57,
He still has it, as far as I’m aware and I thought I’d heard a rumour that it might be coming up for auction, but I’ve no definite information to offer.
