WORST SWAP…I was due to go on a 763 but ended up on a Taesa DC-10

Back in 1977 i was travelling from Bristol to Shannon with a stop in Dublin,equipment for the flight’s was due to be a BAW Bae 1-11 BRS-DUB & an EIN B742 DUB-SNN.
The BRS-DUB flight was operated by a Viscount(i was not complaining!!!!!),& the DUB-SNN sector was operated by a train as EIN were on strike!!!!!!.
Better luck on the return, SNN-DUB by an EIN B707 & DUB-BRS by an EIN B732.

Also I had a A320 swap for a A320 swap.I was flying Barcelona to Dublin and the inbound flight from Dublin was delayed so they took the A320 operating the flight to valencia and put us on it and told the valencia passengers their plane had developed a hydraulic problem.
Just out of interest Barcelona to Valencia must be on if the shortest A320 flights around.Anyone know any shorter ones?MAN-LHR is that shorter?

2. Air OPS Tristar replacing a CKT Tristar
3. Air OPS Tristar replacing a CC Tristar
4. SSV 320 replacing an AMM 320
5. SCY A300 replacing a BY 763

Again, I’ve not really had a good one. The worst I ever had was Nordic European stepping in when Ambassador went bust and I was due to fly BHX-TFS, turned up at BHX to be told they’d gone bust that morning but not to worry cos some Swedish airline was coming to take us to TFS. Turned out to be a clapt out old 73-something with no IFE and a lettuce leaf in a cardboard box to eat.

The other experience that springs to mind was bmibaby back from AGP one evening. Walked off the bus to be confronted with one of the most notorious bmi mainline F100’s in the fleet. Had a totally pee’d off mainline LHR crew (they didn’t like having to do flights for baby) and the propect of 2hrs 55mins on the last row with my ears ringing for england desperately trying to make it home to EMA!

Again, I’ve not really had a good one. The only aircraft change ive had was a Aer Lingus A321 swapped to a A320 my first time on a A320.
This year due to a missed connection I had my only ever flight on a MD-88 instead of a A320.You wouldnt belive how delighted I was.

It’s a bit confusing to explain how this arose, or what was happening to Air 2000’s operations on a particular day, but I almost got a swap from an AMM 320 to a Corsair 742. In the end, we ended up going on a Leisure 734 (G-UKLF).
