best biz jet

What in your opinion are the best biz jets in the light and midsize range? Lets leave off the Bombardiet vs Gulfstream big longrange jets.

Oh good… I’ll have a Citation X then!! 🙂 I didn’t know the other Citation models were a laughing stock though. And I thought they were quite quick!! The design philosophy seemed to be to make the aircraft light as a feather, and stick high powered (relatively) engines on the thing.

RE: best biz jet

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-08-02 AT 08:16 PM (GMT)]Kabir-The gulfstream doesnt qualify. We all know how nice it is to fly non-stop from La to Paris in a bizjet with bedroom, shower, walkin baggage compartment. But lets focus on the lighter bizjets.

BTW I dont think the Boeing BBJ or Airbus A319CJ qualify as bizjets. Theyre about double the weight of the gulfstream/bombardier and are really just full size airliners stripped-out to serve as a private jet.

GZDL- The citation X certainly does qualify as midrange

saab2000- You like the slowtation? They were the laughing stock of private jets till the X came along.

thunderchief- Beech is now Raytheon which also bought Hawkers line of bizjets. You should check out the PremeirI. Its meant to be a step up from the Sky King, a very small step up since operating cost are not much more than turboprops since it uses the revolutionary Williams/Rolls Royce FJ44 turbofan. Check this link and youll see how small the engine is, yet it produces thrust much higher for its size.

RE: best biz jet

Would a Citation X fit into this category? I’d like one of these!! During testing, the pilot went Mach 0.02 higher than the highest Mach number it’s supposed to fly at, and after the flight, part of the tail needed to be re-riveted!!! OOPS!!!

I go for the Sultan of Brunei A340. Then the A319 or finally the Bombardier Challenger and finally the EMB Legency. The rest are too small. I like space. Think big. I don´t like the Boeing 737 so the VIP version wouldn´t it be different.

My favourite biz jet is the Cessna Citation.I like the shape of the aircraft and also the fact that the first Citation pioneered a new era in corporate transport.

RE: best biz jet

I’m guessing we’re to leave off the Boeing BBJ as well as the Airbus A319CJ as well? In that case, I’ll take the Learjet 45. Not that I’ve ever been on a biz jet, or anything, but I like the way it looks.
