Best cars you've owned

1. 1939 MG VA, nineteen inch wirewheels and built in hydraulic jacks on chassis corners,in maroon.

2.1959 Jaguar 3.4 in maroon,i sold this to a jounalist who worked for “classic car” magazine Paul Clark.

3.1962 Ford Consul 375 Convertible in white/green hood(powered

4.1963 ford Classic Capri in red,

5 1936 Humber super Snipe saloon in black.

6.1959 Volkswagen Beetle (ex Sweden left hand drive)

7.1958 Vauxhall Victor “F” type in red,( saloon and estate cars)

8.1958 Ford Popular in Black(sit up and beg model)

there are lots more but the old memory isnt firing on four cylinders at the moment.

My second car. A used, steel blue Lancia Gamma Coupe 2.5ie
Crappy build quality, troublesome engine, but WHAT STYLE!!!
Had it only a couple of month.

I wish I still had my 1976 Triumph 2000 Mk2, lovely drive and robust too. Once drove it from Stockport to RAF Newton then home to Blackpool with no clutch hydraulics

Also my Ford Granada Mk2 2.5 diesel went everywhere in that.

Another unanswerable question. What does ‘best’ mean?

For me.

Car I was proudest of at the time: 1960 MKII Ford Consul Convertible (Blue/white)

Car that delivered the most lurid power slides: 1978 Ford Capri 3.0 V6 Sport (Black)

Car that caught out the most boy racers: 1987 Renault 21 2.0L Turbo (Gunmetal)

Fastest car across country: 2000 Ford Racing Puma (Blue – of course)

Finally and way off topic, the most disappointing? 1965 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Roadster (Blue)

My current Mercedes CLK 320. Lovely car.
Too bad it’s put away for the winter.

My previous C220 was nice as well.

I choose my cars carefully…so I haven’t had any real problems.
