I may buy a combat flight sim, but I have no idea which ones there are or which ones are coming out soon which may be good. I dont really want historic aircraft, but if think one is worth recommending then do so.
Any advice? (screenshots would help a lot!)

Il-2 Forgotten Battles – awesome. No other word for it. Falcon 4.0’s good if you download the patches and SuperPaks.

I saw Il2 in our local Morrison’s the other week for, IIRC, £5.99

No question on my mind:
IL-2 Sturmovik/IL-2 Sturmovik: The Forgotten Battles/Pacific Fighters
www.il2sturmovik.com or www.pacific-fighters.com
AWE-SOME
Best looking sim too, by far. Just look at the latest dev updates… gorgeous! 😎
If you’re looking for a hardcore button pusher instead, try Falcon 4.0.

(Daz, used to have Secret Weapons Over Normandy for PS2, completed it
though!)
So did I – but I like the “instant action” 😀

If you want something relatively uncomplicated, more realistic than you’d think, and way too much fun, get Ace Combat 5 for PS2. I picked it up yesterday, and it is way too much fun.

I had a demo of IL-2, and I liked it, so will possibly get that.

Yep i can vouch for IL-2 Shturmovik, definitely a good combat flightsim, graphics and attention to detail are superb!

definitely Il2 FB/AEP/PF managed to get most of the TFC aircraft and completed my OFMC now.

Falcon 4.0 is way too easy. If you want a challenge find a copy of Flanker 2.5.

But if it is non historic I suppose I would recomend LOMAC. Although I haven’t played it for months, not because it is no good it is excellent but for what my opinion is worth I don’t have the time to get over the learning curve. IL2 is simpler and I can find time for it.

IL-2 Shturmovik has some of the best graphics I’ve ever seen for historic types (IL-2, Bf109 etc).
For a fun ‘sim’, you could do a lot worse than Secret Weapons Over Normandy, which is a bit like Medal of Honor, except in planes!! 😀
