Ive travelled on a lot of airlines from around the world, and Virgin Blue seems to have the prettiest youngest flight attendants in the world.Sir Richard must pick them personally. Some of the American airlines like United,American,US Air,America west have F/As in their forties. Probably because VB is such a relatively young airline,so are their staff. It makes a Refreshing change on a long sector to have something to look at rather than the inflight mags

them hooters air girls are very nice….

kermitz28, I think you got it right, and apart from the beautiful flight attendants, it doesn’t cost a lot either. Look at Manila – Puerto Princesa, (I just checked the figures) , scheduled 1hr 15min flight, Mabuhay(Business) Class in A333, – cost £47.
(Actually it’s the only Biz Class flight I can afford!)

It’s time for a female perspective on this thread. The best looking cabin attendant by far has to be the Icelandair guy who has featured on the BBC’s “Airport” programme sometimes (I think he’s called Axel or something). Also Sabena had some decent looking blokes among the cabin crew.
Some of the guys on Air France are pretty decent looking too.

9W attendents are pretty pretty too!

Speaking as a male, 45 y/o BA long haul Purser that has flown too many transatlantic night flights and should have given up flying years ago (but can’t coz the monies good and the lifestyle’s brilliant), seen cabin crew come in every shape and size…………………give me Kylie in any uniform any day!!!! Yeah predictable I know.
Seriously……every airline has great looking girls and not so great looking! I agree with the makeup thing though, don’t know why some girls need to wear so much, they look great without it. Not so sure about the Hooters Air girls, nice looking girls but the uniform is crap, a bit too Easyjet, no class.
Did anybody see the newspaper article recently about AA having an 80 yearold stewardess! I bet she’s been everywhere and seen everything, she must be a great laugh to work with, I wouldn’t mind doing a trip with her, for the laugh!!!!
Male business pax often tell me that although it’s nice to see pretty faces in the cabin they like to know that there’s someone older in charge, with a lot of flying experience in case anything should occur. By that I don’t mean that anybody younger couldn’t deal with a given situation, of course they can.
Sometimes I think some people aren’t aware of the amount of training that goes into being cabin crew and the amount of knowledge you need to retain in your head as you are often asked about various scenarios and equipment as part of the Purser or CSD’s pre-flight breifing. Some might look a bit bimbo-ish but they aren’t!!!
Still want to see Kylie in a uniform though!!!!!
Purser:D 😀

right, Hooter pic… the one on the right reminds me of Katie Hill, who was on Blue Peter a couple of years ago.
As for general f/a’s, Crossair used to have a lot of cute Alsatians (not that they were dogs, but they were from Alsace).
Presumably they’re still on the Swiss shorthaul network somewhere?
(and the fact that I spent 6 months going for lunch at the Crossair cantine at BSL has nothing to do with this nomination, honest ;))

Apart from my misses (I have to say that, she might read it), I think the best looking are defintely the girls from the Phillipines
By: A330Crazy - 26th May 2003 at 23:12
BY girls aint bad, better than MYT ones anyhow. But the thing I find… sooooooooooo much make up… just barbie dolls in the air! :p
By: kurmitz28 - 26th May 2003 at 23:08
Im going to have to disagree with all of you!! My misses is an in-flight chef ( 1 of only 40 in the world ) working for Gulf-Air, she only works in first class ( and flight deck ) and she is 43!! In my eyes she beats any young blonde!! Incidently im 29

I’ve recently been noticing that Monarch seem to be recruiting the most attractive cabin crew.
By: greekdude1 - 26th May 2003 at 21:50
Well Mike, that sucks for your wife to do that to you, EVEN IF you were looking at the attendant’s arse or not. It was no fault of the flight attendant for looking good. Just to add to the original topic, along with Virgin Blue, I also find Lufthansa to have very nice looking attendants, Austrian, and Air Jamaica.
By: T5 - 26th May 2003 at 21:39
Oh, definitely not Tamzin Outhwaite. I thought the other one looked a bit like Holly Valance.
By: mikeconnell - 26th May 2003 at 21:38
Greekdude, it’s fine to disagree, forums are for discussion.
We all like a bit of eye candy, but one of my first flights with my wife resulted in me getting the cold shoulder for looking at ‘the one with the arse’. And I was only trying to catch her attention to get the wife replacement headphones (the ones she had been given didn’t work) 🙁
I tend to associate good service with United and a few other airlines. Maybe the average age of UAL’s cabin crews is just a coincidence, maybe they are at the top of many crews’ career ladders which causes more mature crews to gravitate to them, I don’t know.
All that said, I have found the service on my ‘when United’s full’ airline, VS, to be very good too with younger crews.

I’m sure they haven’t, but the one in the F/O’s seat does bear a certain resemblance to Tamzin Outhwaite (or is it just the differently coloured roots and eyebrows?).

Geez, I think those Hooters girls look a tad bit better than just ‘decent.’ I’ll take that one in the left seat anytime! Steve, I couldn’t agree with you more on both fronts. I have flown Virgin Blue, and their female flight attendants were very niiiiiiiiiiiiice (looking), to say the least! And as much as I love United, their female flilght attendants as a whole are a bit ‘older,’ per se. Mike, for the first time, I think I’m going to have to disagree with you on the ‘maturity’ issue. Cabin service is cabin service, in my opinion. As long as they keep the Scotch flowing and they don’t spill anything on me (like a TWA flight attendant who spilled orange juice on me when I was 9), I’m good to go, in any class of service (unless I’m flying domestic economy, in which case I bring my own). I’ve actually found the younger flight attendants to be more energetic and enthusiastic, and for whatever reason, I can have a decent conversation with on occassion. And when it all boils down to it, sure, I wouldn’t mind having some eye candy on a five hour flight. If they don’t come around as often to pick up my trash, I’ll go to the galley and throw it away myself. I’m not one to push on the attendant call button anyway. I probably sound superficial in all this, but, so be it.

I was going to say the same thing there, Mike. United offered the best on-board service with us last year and the majority of the crew were 40 something. On the return leg, one guy must have been in his early 50s, but flight attendants are there to serve the passengers food and drink, not to impress with their looks.
And, to my knowledge, none of those pictured have been in Eastenders.

By: robc - 26th May 2003 at 17:07
AirDolomiti had a couple good ones, but being on an ATR it was only 2…
By: KabirT - 26th May 2003 at 16:49
Some of my worst exp. with air hostesses is with SAS and Indian Airlines.
By: mikeconnell - 26th May 2003 at 16:46
Is it just me or was one of those two in the Hooters Air pic an Eastenders star?
