Best whisky

Thought we could talk about a gentlemenโ€™s drink for a change instead of the ordinary beers :D. So has anybody got something to say about this divine substance?

Just returned from a week in Oban with two bottles of Oban Malt, one of Islay Mist and one of Talisker. My favourite Speyside is Macallan without a doubt.

Philo I am with you on the Laphroig and the Talisker though I prefer the Laphroig. I have a soft spot for Islay Whiskeys and I like Ton Mohr, Ard Beg and Bowmore as well. My youngest brother is a big Talisker fan while my two oldest brothers like Bourbon and Irish. But I am a dyed in the wool Islay drinker.

In order of preference;-

1. Laphroig
2. Lagavullin
3 Talisker
Anything slightly Islay/Island , peaty, sweet/salty, phenolic or Lowland
Not too taken by Highland or Spey.
Blends, well despite what some would say there are some good ones, Johny Walker Black as an example
