I always find Thomson Airways staff very rude. On a light from MAN-LXR i said to my friend not much legroom a flight attendant buts in and says “should of flown virgin then”, another instance was on the LPA-MAN service when i said oh this aircraft is different, flight attendant said “erm no it isn’t, it’s just got personal tv’s”.
Monarch can also be unfriendly and lack smiles.
Thomas Cook are much friendlier they always seem to go much further and carry smiles around with them.
Ryanair ive always found friendly too, one flight attendant giving me a sip of her bottled water.

Must agree with Mr. T that BA crews were very good this year in comparison with AA last year. If you can’t stand the heat in the kitchen, get out!

I find BA crews quite good. I’ve done a few trips Down Under on BA B777s and the experiences have all been as enjoyable as long-haul flying can be.
You were lucky!!..where you in cattle class? i know they fawn over their business and first class pax, us cattle treated like something they stood on!. only flown BA 5 times… and never will again, find the airline just poor overall, truly living up to their tag as the worlds worst airline (just ahead of RYR…but at least the RYR crew are decent and appreciate they have a job!)
BTW out of 3 trips down under i flew Cathay, Garuda and Qantas… best by a mile being Garuda!! really friendly helpful staff… Qantas being the bottom of that lot

Well, obviously BA are way out in front as the worst/rudest/snobbiest cabin crew ever.. but… found Qantas crew a bit poor.
Best ever: Cebu Pacific… fabulous fun crew, enjoy their work (BA crew could learn a LOT from these guys!!):D

In the days when I flew frequently SAS were at the top with Aer Lingus near the top and BA well down the list and Air France and Lufthansa not far above them. The small bus-stop domestic airlines were all good as was British Midland.
I expect much has changed in recent years – for better or for worse, I wouldn’t know…..

when i used to fly weekly Exeter – Belfast with JEA in 1996, often on the Sunday afternoon leg there would be one jolly hostess, with a 1920s type jolly hockeysticks name that eludes me, i think from chatting she was related to the JEA owners, and just used to help out. Great fun and great service.
best momory of her was when we had boarded at Belfast one Friday evening and we seated, by the co-pilot, we had to wait for our hostess as she was on the delayed Cork flight, when it landed it was parked at the opposite end of the terminal, the captain came on the address system and said ” we will be getting under way shortly, just waiting for out hostess to join us, if passengers on the left of the plane look out their windows now they will see her running along the apron infront of the terminal”
