Best/worst films you've seen this year

Speaks for itself, really.

Best film: Spider-man 2 – for once a superhero movie I wasn’t bored to tears with!

Worst film: The Stepford Wives – I fell asleep in the middle of this, for about 15 minutes!!

worst film i seen this year (or ever for that matter) was signs, which i rented a few days back.

interesting topic, but totally braindead storyline. aliens who have the ability to travel god knows how far to get to earth decides to attack (not to improbable). but they decide to wage war on man by coming down butt naked, totally unarmed except for some stupid little sting which they got growing out of their arms, and even cant get through wooden doors! whats worse is that the film make it seem that the human race might have been wiped out by these naked and barely armed invaders if not for some guy pi$$ing his pants and discovering that water hurt them! throw in some religious mumo-jumbo and you have one hell of a crap film. :disgust:

Also another great movie was Fight Club. Probably Brad Pitt’s best performance. Especially the end scene where the buildings collapse was great and then the single fram of a pen!s while Frank Black started screaming “except for little fish”

Haha! I was actually thinking about the film editing scene in that this morning for some unknown reason!

I was a bit dissappointed with “Girl with the Pearl Earring”…I spent two hours waiting for something to happen..it seemed like we were just waiting to see who was going to seduce her. Lovely visually, but not much happened and the characters were thin.

I really liked Once upon a time in Mexico. A great ending to Rodriguez’ Mariachi-trilogy, and one of the few films in which i didn’t think Johnny Depp was an annoying nuisance.

Good movie, but did anyone else sit through it and go “huh?” It’s almost like he decided to ignore what happened in Desperado at times and invent a new backstory.

I think she does.

Also, the stupider the film, the lower the standards for visual compensation. Although i’m not really in favour of deflating the definition of VC.

I was totally bored by King Arthur. I spent half the movie thinking of schemes in order to get one of the film-T-shirs which the people at the cinema were wearing. So despite the movie being crap (even though Keira Knightley does offer lots of visual compensation), i’m now really happy with my King Arthur – Warrior, Legend, King T-shirt 😀

Watched the Pianist on Monday on DVD during my boat ride back to Jersey. A superb film and I think better than Schindlers List.

I concur

I, Robot was good – slightly obvious storyline but with a twist or 2. Funny in places, effects good

Heh. Well, I thought it was a good time. Not one that’ll make you think or anything, just a fun movie to watch.

I’m a bit sceptical about Hellboy, although a mate of mine saw it and he says it’s pretty gnarly.

(Mind you, he has got sh*t taste in movies and women! :D)

Kabir what did you not like about Hellboy? I thought it was rather amusing, a good, entertaining movie to watch.

Saw the Bourne Supremacy myself this past weekend. Good movie, even if they have ignored 90% of Deighton’s storyline 😀
