I know the “Crab Air” people amongst you look down on us “Brown Jobs” but I can’t help but notice that the Beverley is moving to Fort Paull Armouries (near Hull) as they won the sealed bid. What the hell is there? Does anybody know?

If the Bev goes the way the Vulcan at Blackpool is going thats a huge loss to the UK and a piece of history that we cannot replace,I have always thought its a shame to see a Vulcan rotting away but i can’t compare the loss of a Vulcan to the loss of a unique Bev,I pray somehow she survives.

Wax dummies at Fort Paull..
Melt ’em – mix them with oil and apply liberally to the internals of the Bev.
Keep the falcons – they will deter the ‘intruders’.

Just checked out the website for Fort Paul and they do have a charming collection of wax dummies there and they do do falconary demonstrations so it should be in safe hands?

A friend of mine – ex Life Guards – used to be assistant curator at the Museum of Transport reckons the old girl was in a fairly good state of repair when he left but that was 10 years ago. A lot of water under the bridge – and seals – since then I know but can this new mob look after her?
