Its come to my attention, that an Mil- Spotter has been quizzed by the
Gloucestershire Police for shooting video footage of what was described as a
group of children. After the Police had checked his footage and digital –
stills, he was given the all clear by them, but not before being given a
Blue stop and search ticket. I understand that the spotter has already
sent a complaint with regard to the way he was dealt with and the
police handling of the incident. R.I.AT. has been informed also. The point
of this is do you think that R.I.A.T. should either put some thing on their
web site for next years show, warning serious spotters of the dangers
of getting the public in their sights ? and this comes under by the way
of the Sex Offences act of 2003.
Do you think that R.I.A.T. should go back to displaying the static aircraft
in a single line display line like the old days, or take the show at BAF Kleine
Brogal for example last week ?
Bearing in mind children have to be protected of course, but are we going
to suffer unless we are given info as to where we stand on this.
I have e-mailed and spoke to the people at Douglas Bader house with regard
to the static line up, maybe people with kind enough to ask them what
if anything they intend to do about the possible problem. If the static
display line could be made back to how it was, we would get some nice
shots without the risk of Kids being in the shots or a fairground ride
or Bills Burger Bar. Just a Thought, what do you think ?.
