BF or ME 109 ?

The designation as i understand it for the 109 is BF but here is an original wartime identification poster dated 1942 which designates it as a ME 109 perhaps the confusion started then?

I prefer “Me” over “Bf”, but thats just “Me”,, LOL

They only appear in combat reports as Me 109.

If you see a combat report calling them Bf 109s…..well….another old chestnut!

Always makes me laugh about this subject,nobody ever called them Bf…it is after all only an official designation. 😀

Also seen written down by some Poles as Fokkers, but, they weren’t much cop at identification:rolleyes:

Try looking for parts on German ebay – you’ll find that nearly all are listed as Me109
