Bf109 flown back to England after Dieppe Raid??

Just going through some blurbs on a self published book site and came across one by a Commando who, in an excerpt, described taking a 109 and making it back to England…curious as I can’t recall ever hearing about this before…sounds like a load of tosh but could be wrong.

Anyone know if this is factual?

Evidently this was spur of the moment as in “lets get out of here” after the raid started to go badly wrong…

Not a clue as to its authenticity, but there was a plan to steal a Focke-Wulf 190 from an airfield in France by similar means – Spitfire test pilot Jeffrey Quill was to have been involved, but the landing of the ‘190 at Pembrey in Wales rendered the plan unnecessary.
