I have no beef with that Trumper, but it was obviously a moderator that removed my post, and it is the moderators that tirelessly remind us that there can be no advertising on the forum, and if you remove the discussion, then what is left?

The Aultbea event is a 3 day festival marking Atlantic convoys which formed here, there is a planned Spitfire display at 1450 local sat and sun plus a t34 tank and Spit static replica etc.

If you see it as an advertisement and it keeps what little industry we have left in the country employed well done them.I seriously doubt many ,if any of us on here are going to purchase one of these BUT many many will really enjoy seeing it and hearing about it’s development and build.

As many have said before, an excellent job, with the utmost attention to detail; (I particularly like the grease on the prop hub) on another note I see my post on replica/FSM has been removed, without the opportunity for discussion, this thread is just one big (free) advertisement.

I have it on good authority that it has now turned up in Aultbea on the West Coast of Coast of Scotland near Ullapool… my mother and partner where somewhat surprised to say the least!

It was a very pleasant surprise to arrive just in time for the roll out yesterday. It was also very nice meeting you and to be told that I was the first member of the public to photograph her. As I mentioned at the time, this unexpected event was a real bonus to our day out in Cornwall. She looked magnificent in the sunshine and the team seemed justly proud of their achievement. I look forward to seeing more in the future.

Canopy fitted is as an E-4, but suppose anything is possible. Have all the blueprints and drawings, just a matter of time and plenty of patience.

Bloody amazing work!. Just out of curiosity, could you replicate the earlier canopy that the Emil had or is it solely the squared off type that you are sticking to should any further orders come in?.

It was built for Northern Forties re-enactment group who already have a Spitfire 9. Hopefully at a later date other 109s may be built, such is the interest with this one. And of course there is the possibility of a remake of ‘The Battle of Britain’. As we already make Spitfires and Hurricanes, why not the trio?

^What he said!
Are you allowed to say what the purpose of the FSM is? Will it be used as a film prop, or gate guardian or just a very nice piece of artwork?

WOW!!!!

silver on top! We had wonderful drawings and schematics for the colour scheme created by Steve Rickards, which full of detail made it easier for us to create what you see here. Each colour had at least 2 coats of paint, before the next was added. Attention to detail is paramount and although it isn’t 100% accurate (soon to be rectified), it truly is a work of art!

Just out of interest, for the worn paint look, did you rub off the paint back to a silver base, or paint some silver on top?
By: T6flyer - 5th May 2017 at 12:39
You say that, but when she was rolled outside yesterday, a number of visitors to CAHC came over and asked when was it going to take off!
By: trumper - 5th May 2017 at 12:11
:applause::applause: Ok ,so when does she fire up and do her first flight :eagerness: She really does look that good ,well done to all.

That looks truly beautiful. Thanks for keeping us up to speed with the construction as it progressed and a big thanks to your client for allowing you to share the images with us all. Hopefully your clients will allow you post as the P51 and future aircraft develop. It has been a fascinating thread and one that I looked forward to catching up with.
