BF109G4 "red7" donation started!

Ah..just found one of the other threads..1,000,000 euros quoted there..that sounds more realistic, more’s the pity.

Looks like more than 100,000 euros needed to get it flying again. What a great shame. They are obviously VERY tricky beasts. More written off in accidents than combat if I recall correctly.

I hope they collect enough money to put the special warbird back in the air. I’ve never seen an 109 in real life, but I will.. 😉

I’ve been away from Europe for a few months and having spent most of my school German lessons watching Warton’s best flying past (and therefore being unable to make sense of the website) I’ve missed this piece of bad news…….what happen to the 109? :confused:

Ground looped badly and crashed while landing, a week or two ago. Pilot ok but the airplane is very heavily damaged, the engine was ripped right out of the airplane. Search this forum back a couple of pages and you will find the thread with pics and the report.

As they didn’t include their bank IBAN and BIC codes, they are making it difficult for everybody from abroad to donate. With these one can pay them direct without costs. If I want to donate something now, my bank alone charches me around 15 P.St. in banking costs. BW Roger

Thats right Ian, but afaik the owners dont have an internet connection. And thats what you need for PayPal. 😮
I have only recalled the informations from a article in a newspaper.

I’d suggest you make it possible to donate through “Paypal” as it is a lot easier than moving money to a German bank account from the UK.
