Spent a few hours at BHX at tea time to try out the camera at an airport. These are the results.

LGWboy.
The old terminal at BHX is, I believe, part of the so called ‘Freeport’ which that side of the airfield was turned over to when the new terminal was built. The grey shed to the right of the terminal is I think the cargo handling area.
I just noticed today that it appears the West Midlands Police helicopter now operates from Halfpenny Green, unless it was just there for servicing?

Nice show of pics there Kev. Looks like it was actually quite busy there on that day, signs that Summer is on its way? :p “Not likely in this country, we skip summer and go to Autumn!” 😀
Good lot of Airlines there too. Its nice to see some of the lessor known/mentioned airlines, I.e, Eastern Airways and I think I see an Aer Arran aircraft in one of the pics too?
I like the pic of the new Aer Lingus c/s the best, the blue is deffinately the best out of the lot that have been done! 🙂
The old terminal, do they still use it at all?
Cheers Kev for sharing them woth the group. 🙂

Nice pictures, looks like you tried about every corner of the airport!
There is a good area for photos around the other side behind the Tristar but they closed it off in March for some reason.

Great photographs Kev,
Birmingham is certainly a real up and coming airport with US and Middle Eastern operators now flying in and out each day.
Did you get a glimpse of any carriers from outside Europe?

the a/c was transfeed from the Danish arm to the UK arm just before the buyout, but was never painted in the BA c/s – well hasn’t of yet!

Surely it can’t be a Maersk/Duo BA franchise aircraft? This is the livery of the Danish Maersk Air and I’m not sure that they fly CRJs? Could it be a corporate jet of the owners of Maersk Air Denmark? I think I saw a CRJ in Maersk livery (but without titles, just like this one), in CPH years ago.

Sure they are Kev!!!! I got Two of mine up the other week, and the quality was poor as hell! Your pics dont lack quality at all, in my opinion.

Andrew.
Don’t think even the better ones are good enough for that.

Is that the same Maersk that is partially owned by BA? Is so, don’t they also have ties with SAS, as I know they codeshare with them.

They do have a white symbol on the tail… Im not sure why this one doesn’t?
Two more great pics kev… have you thought about trying to get them uploaded on PlanePictures.net at all?
Nice to see an Eastern Airways one there too.
Cheers Kev.

Some cracking photos in the selection on this thread.
Got to say my particular favourite has to be the BAe146/Avro RJ (not able to identify them from each other) and curiously, the Dash 8-Q400 rather appeals to me. Not a huge Flybe. fan but would like to sample that particular machine nevertheless.
Keep ’em coming!

I took that pic at GLA last week, and there was one there yesterday which I viewed from the M8 whilst driving past. I think (will need to check) it does mail/newspaper runs out of Luton to UK airports.

Ren.
I believe it was that very aircraft at BHX on wednesday. Anyone any idea where it flies to?

Thanks Kev, there great pics! Nice shot of the old Terminal too.
The BAC express aircraft… I saw 3 of these down in Exeter last summer.

the a/c is actually from MyTravle Lite, the lo-cost subsidery of MyTravel who fly scheduled routes – Belfast, Amsterdam, Malaga, Paris-Beuvais and Knock spring to mind…
MyTravel lite at present only operate A320s, and their home base is BHX!
