BHX Meet?

Is anyone interested in a BHX meet sometime in the next few weeks? There are one or two things going on in the latter part of the month which might be of interest to spotters and photographers alike.

20th October sees Concorde’s final visit to BHX. Not sure what’s planned but I think it will be on the ground for four hours or so. 21st sees the start of a major textile exhibition and conference at the NEC. THY alone have five flights booked in for the 21st with around twenty in total during the week. Expect to see other flights and biz-jets throughout the week but the 21st seems to be one of the high points.

If anyone is interested let me know.

at the moment count me as a yes, it just depends if I have any university assignments to do around that time, I will post my mobile number to you now Kev, and I will post on monday 22th if I can make it – but it should be yes as I will make sure all of my work is out of the way.

By the way, I might be able to persuade my mate to come along as well.

I’ll hopefully book a flight tomorrow once I check the Visa statement. If that makes for frightening reading then I’ll have to wait til the 15th when payday comes around to make a booking.

Yaaayyyyyy!!!!!

Way to go Ian. Trying to convince Andy to take up your kind offer of a lift. Perhaps if you told him you wouldn’t pull more than 4G? Any more takers? Ren? Jay?

OK then. Shall we say BHX on the 22nd of October? If those who can make it want to let me know when and where they are coming from I can arrange to be there to meet you. Depending on how many come I can offer a little side trip to COV to see what’s on the ground there and a look around the Midland Air Museum which also gives good views across the airfield at Cov. I can take three people with me in my car.

What do you think?

22nd would probably be best for me too.

I have the same bike as the one in the picture but mine is a metallic red colour. SC – when you choose a bike I’d suggest going for something big as they are easier to ride. The only thing you have to be careful about is not going too wild on the throttle (mine is supposedly 0 to 100 and back to 0 in 12 seconds!)

2 singles!
That would be £240!
1 return would only be £59 though. BA have a messed up singles policy!

Mark – it’s probably so that the system books you on a return flight half an hour before you arrive, thinking it’s the best fare… you should be able to get round it by booking two singles, or by going to a travel agent/ the BA office on Gordon Street.

However, I don’t think I’ll be joining you in Brum… a day return with Swiss at this short notice is 700 quid… AF wouldn’t let me buy return flights, either, and one way to Brum (via CDG) is 600 Euros 😮

BA don’t seem to let you fly GLA-BHX-GLA in one day? Don’t quite understand why!

It’s always sunny in Birmingham! Just that now and again the odd cloud gets in the way. 😉

Let us note what flight you’re on.

22nd or 23rd any good ? That will mean me going to Belfast, Birmingham and Edinburgh meets all in one week ! Although it’s fair to say I’m doing Belfast on my own.

If the 21st suits everyone else then go for it, I’ll come down another time.

Dates are flexible guys, any time during that week would be good. The extra activity at BHX should run from 21st to around 29th. A list will be available of what extra traffic is due nearer the date but any day that week should be good.

Ren. Have a think and let me know, any day would be good.

Wys. Come up on another day that week if able, that way no loss of brownie points with Mrs. Wys. I’m only 40 mins from BHX so can get there to suit you guys.
