Time at BHX: 11:15 – 18:15
This was an interesting visit to BHX, mailnly the viweing area in the terminal is very user friendly, even though it is quite some distance from the runway. Not to mention just as Wingflaps2 and Dusseldwarf were leaving we managed to find an outside vewing area behind the long term car park, which we wished we had found earlier. Overall the facilites at BHX were very good, but the shop didnt really stock many models in there shop, mainly specialising in books and the gadgets.
The aircraft that came in were:
PIA A310: AP-BEQ
Zoom 767: C-GZUM
Islanflug 737: TF-ELD
Emirates A330: A6-EAC
Air Transat A310: C-GSAT (how novel for a saturday)
Britannia 767: G-BYYA/BRIG
Astraeus 737: G-STRD
after Wingflaps2 and Dusseldwarf left:
Eurowings: D-ACRE
Futura 737: EC-HHG
PIA A310: AP-BEG
and the one that made the day worthwhile:
Belavia TU154: EW-85706 (parked on remote stand)
Apart from this all of the usual stuff.
Overall BHX as a regional and intercontinetal huib had t all really, nice airport, easy to get around, very nice and user friendly viewing area and lots to do even if it is raining or nothing is coming in as well as the outside viewing area as well.
Makrs out of 10 for BHX 10/10
Cant think of anything to fault as BHX had it all even though the inside viewing area from the runway, the outside one gives an entire view from the runway, and you are. Very good day out and I think this will begin the first of many visits for me to BHX.

On top of the viewing bit over by the Elmdon building. Up the spiral staircase on the right hand side of the building.

Sounds like you had a good day, I made a brief visit on Sat to get the Belavia (longer than planned as it was an hour late!
Wingflats – the SAS would have been a 737-600, pretty common at BHX I think, although theres an A321 in next weekend for the Liverpool v Villa game.
Heres the Belavia anyway.

No,
£50 for a bit of plastic seems a bit high, if it comes down to £40 I might get it.

Great Repot Jay, cheers for that. Speaking of models, did you get that A380 VIR model in the end?

Zoom has an amazing colour scheme and I am dying to get hold of a Zoom model aircraft!!
Jason, there were lots of MyTravel aircraft at Brum too, including MyTravelLite A320 G-JOEM, FlyBE (great airline) Dash 8 G-JEDI, and not forgetting Monarch B757-200 G-MOND (the aircraft I flew to GIB on in the cockpit!) and A321 G-OZBE. A321 G-OJEG was scheduled to be at BHX yesterday, but we didn’t catch it. Also saw the SAS B737-500?
Saw lots of BA EMB145’s and CRJ’s which became boring. Duo aircraft were there in abundance too.
My favourite UK airport, and I think Dean and Jason can perhaps understand why. I’ve flown about 11 roundtrips from there over the last 10 years. It really has changed alot in the last 3 years.
A shame BA don’t have the A319 based there anymore.
Thoroughly recommended as a spotting location, and it is cheap to park in the NCP long stay at £5 per visit.

By: Jay330 - 17th August 2003 at 13:00
I didnt, but Wingflaps2 and dusseldwarf did get there around 9:30 am and saw your plane and the continental 752

Your absolutly right, BHX is a great airport.
Came back from Bulgaria on Saturday to BHX, i cant remember the time exactly it was about 10:00-10:30am.
I’m surprised you didn’t see my BH Air A320 or that Continental 757:confused:

very good point
By: EGNM - 17th August 2003 at 02:17
glad to hear it went well.
1 point, an easy mistake but the BY surely had to be G-BYAA not G-BYYA – have flown both AA and BRIG!
