Big ABZ expansion planned by City Star

First anniversary of ops just passed.

To celebrate, they now have due no less than FIVE more DO328s (TF-NPA-E) and in our local paper rumours of FOUR new routes from ABZ this summer.

I will take a stab that LCY and REK are two, as X9 had slots for the former, & the latter keeps appearing on the X9 website.

Maybe they will be sublet to a Mr D Trump for transporting his golfers to his Balmedie golf course when it is built!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CITY STAR.

Its nearly coming to the end of its certification for LCY.

James

Emailed my contact at the airport and he says that it is not certified and the official LCY operations website has no record of any certification process and it is not on the list of certified aircraft so I would be grateful if I could be provided with evidence for this

I believe they are coming to the end of the certification process if not already there.

WELL….

The fleet listings may indeed have jumped ther gun assuming the other 4 DO328s were JET versions.

Certainly says they are JET versions, but doubt now cast on whether TF-NPB-‘PE are.

I reported what I saw but must admit it raised an eyebrow that all 5 would be DO328JETS.

Wait & see I guess.

‘PA not painted in Citystar livery, it is in Club Jet colours still.

Just looked at fleet listings, now says ALL 5 of the latest DO328s due are JET versions (TF-NPA-PE).

Believe it’s ‘PA due tonight.

Yes, if they are jets then LCY seems even more likely as one of the new routes you would think.

DO328 jets aren’t certified at LCY

City Star who currently operate a fleet of (Icelandic reg’d) Do328’s are said to be looking into an Aberdeen to London City route which would begin “in the Summer”

For those interested at least one of the “new” batch of DO328s is a JET version, and it is due into ABZ this evening.

There were some rumours of some of the ABZ – LCY flights routing via LBA, but hasn’t (yet) materialized.

I think LCY, REK/KEF (one or the other), maybe more Scandi & maybe LPL, dropped by 6G.

Mind you I didn’t see KSU via SVG but that is still flying, so what do I know!

Am I right in thinking their have been rumours of an LBA service in the past?

Would love to see DO328’s down here!
