Indeed, there is quite a sizable gap in the centre. bmi fly to GLA don’t they around lunchtime?

Also i see they are adding one more MAN-GLA flight, to the 5 that BACON fly at the moment. Great news tho!
General BACon depts for MAN-GLA Mon-Fri: 0650, 0840, 1225, 1550, 1745 and 1930.
The Flybe depts for MAN-GLA Mon-Fri: 0655, 0830, 1515, 1640, 1830 and 1955.
Does anyone else think that there should be a 7th flight pitched in at 1200?
Even if it dropped to 5 daily, we’d still be seeing an small increase in capacity, so maintaining frequency should see a fairly sizeable 40% increase (based on 50 seats at present for BACon and 70 seats for Flybe).

Im a bit dissapointed at the expansion at NCL just the one route when there were stron rumours of 4 new routes at least.
Good news none the less for the other airports.
Newcastle – Aberdeen was also stated on their email shot this morning, though no mention of it on their website…

Regarding the Flybe takeover of BA Connect at Bhx, Ive been told its from the 1st january and they are moving there entire operation to terminal 2?, will flybe continue to operate the existing BA aircraft, If so will they get a repaint into flybe colours, or will they get rid and just intergrate the BA routes into there existing ones.
They are temporarily integrating the BA COnnect fleet, but they intend to replace these aircraft ASAP with their own types. The RJ145s for example could never deliver the seat-mile costs they need for the Flybe business model, hence they need to get rid of them ASAP.

Great to see them breaking into Europe from EDI at last! It’s not much but it’s a start.

Where’s this press release? Nothing about CWL on the flybe site that i can see.
FlyBe at CWL would be great, an airline with ambition that could bring some decent new routes to CWL at last!
Oh the crafty beggars have removed Cardiff from the release, but trust me, it was there at 11am this morning!

Great to see some expanision at NCL. I wonder how LS will respond to all this news. Surely with MAN, NCL and EDI all in FlyBe’s expansion they will respond one way. ( There are gaps in the NCL timetable for next year with LS )

CWL is in the press release, though there seems to be no flights for sale!

With some of the routes, they’ve announced them as new, but only because they only operate them seasonally, so for example, BHX-LRH and EGC operated last year and this last summer, but will be back for next summer. Furthermore BHX-HAM has been announced, but currently BA Connect is the only operator on that route, so it would have been taken over anyway. Its all about how you market things, announcing new routes seems very positive and can stimulate passengers, even if they’re not really that new.

There is LBA expansion – SOU increases to 3 x daily. Wouldn’t have expected much else considering that they have all of the BACON integration to deal with plus they have no idea who will be running LBA by the time the summer season starts. It could be Balfour Beatty with whom they might be best of friends or worst of enemies depending on how the relationship develops at EXT.
Very good point. Well, SOU increasing to 3x daily is good news. Must be doing well.
