hey
a couple of my friends are taking part in Manchester Airports bi-annual Big Rig Emergency Exercise, volunteering as ‘passengers’ on the exercise ‘aircraft’.
I and another friend volunteered as well, but didnt get our names pulled out of the hat 🙁 , but we have decided to go with them anyway, making it into a 24 hour long photography/watching planes marathon. We’re planning to arrive at the airport at 10 am and not leave until 3am the next day! hehe, can’t wait!
For those in the know, where on the airport is the ‘Big Rig’ located and can it be seen from either the AVP or the top of the T1 multistorey car park? If not, can it be viewed from anywhere else on the perimeter?
Also, as we’re going to be using public transport, we’ll be relying on buses and taxi’s to get us around the airport – do local taxi drivers generally know what and where the AVP is?
thanks in advance 🙂

Hi Adam,
Sounds good. You can see it from the Terminal 3 car park, although there’s a chance you could get moved along by the Police. Im not sure if you can see it from Level 13 though…
