Hi
Spent the Saturday on a grassy hump toward the northern end of the airfield and a more centrist position on Sunday but away and out of sight of the big TV screens
The light watching the display from inside the airfield is not brilliant even at the best of times. Nevertheless the skyscape Sunday afternoon could have been taken straight out of the film, The Battle of Britain.

Thank you Darren and everybody else.
I only managed to get one more decent formation shot which was from Saturday. I would have preferred a bit of blue sky but can’t complain.
Perfect stuff Martin. Can you PM me your email address so we can sort out how to get the images to PT. Many thanks.

Martin,
Great images as always.
Do you have any more shots of Peter Teichman’s Hurribomber and the MkI Spitfire? He would be very interested in getting some copies if you have some (including the one posted on here).
If anyone else has great shots of that pair combi, please PM me if you are willing to let Peter have copies.
(I may not reply until Thursday as I’m away)
Thanks
Darren

Just a quickie.
Forgive my ignorance but what is the connection between this plane and 92 Squadron?
Tony

Some corking photos there semae and the one that stood out to me was of the typhoon climbing out behind the spit.Next was the F16 shots and gnats as my favourites, the vipers looked a bit remaniscent of the old Red Pelicans and thanks for sharing your hard work.

Don’t thank me Tony, you are half correct actually.:o
The 72 (R) sqn Tucanos represent one 66 sqn and one 92 sqn Spitfire, but the BoB pilots (Robert Oxspring & Charles Kingcombe) they are commemorating both went on to command 72 sqn.
I’m guessing the 72 sqn Tucanos were the most suitable aircraft to do it with, but seems odd that at least one of them wasn’t painted up to represent one of their own Spits!?
Well, thank you anyway.
For those of you, like me, who didn’t know this about the 72 sqdn Tucanos, check out this web page http://www.globalaviationresource.com/reports/2010/2010tucanodisplay.php.

…however 72 (Reserve) sqn fly this pair of Tucanos in a camoflage scheme to commemorate its pilots that flew Spitfres in these markings during the BoB!
Many thanks. 😀

Fantastic pictures yet again Martin, just found out that I work with a friend of yours!
Forgive my ignorance but what is the connection between this plane and 92 Squadron?
Absolutely none!….

What I like in particular about a lot of these shots is you can see the ground, and also see that it is Biggin Hill. I love looking at photos on this site and the quality of most is stunning but a close up picture of a plane at Biggin, with no other point of reference, could be anywhere in the UK, or the world for that matter.
Having said that I am really envious of you guys as I don’t have the time, equipment nor skill to take the kind of photos you all do.
Keep up the great work everyone.
Tony.

Great pics!
Question: in the third pic of the dogfight scenario, it appears one of the aircraft in the shot is fitted with a smoke system??
The Me108 had a smoke system.
Great photos Martin, in often challenging light.

Wonderful, love the VC10 shot. And I can almost hear the BoB music looking at the dogfight photos! 😀

Wonderful pictures and those long shots of the BoB sequence could have taken 70 years ago! Republish them in monochrome…….
