Doubt it, as we get a spitfire multiple times a day and its pretty direct seeing as they are flying (according to that flight path) parallel.

Would they be restricted from going over somewhere like West Malling?
It’s not so much an airfield as housing estate these days.
There’s also weather, fuel and emergency contingency to take into consideration (I would imagine).

must admit that Hamlyn flight doesn’t go over many airfields. Thought they initially were going over West Malling but looking at that route no where near unless they might zigzag and that line is indicative rather than actual flight route.

Thanks for the links. It looks like ‘the few’ applies to the airfields this time. Two of the real few are buried in Gravesend. I expect there are some at Manston as well considering what happened there.

Has anyone seen a plan of the approximate routes? I have read that they will not be flying over Manston or Gravesend.

Accordinging to their web site this is completely sold out (18,000) and you can’t purchase tickets on the day. However, I did notice someone that was selling tickets on the Biggin Facebook page.

Ordered mine too ! Anyone failing to get tickets may do well to get to their nearest local former 11 group airfield as certain sections of the formation should overfly them, Kenley maybe a good spot for anyone SE London located?

Again, wrong event! Tomorrow is the annual Festival of Flight, which Bf-109G Red 7 wil be displaying at. The August 18th Battle of Britain event is a different event.

It’s this Saturday’s Festival of Flight that’s sold out. The 18 August Battle of Britain event tickets aren’t on sale yet. Before the website disappeared I recall it said tickets went on sale on 15 June and were limited to 3,000.

The website also said there are plans for 26 Spitfires & Hurricanes to fly in three formations over three different areas in the south-east. There will also be a flightline walk and re-enactors. Tickets priced at £40pp.
