Bill Gunston

Ever since I was a kid (Im 38 now) Ive been reading and learning from Bill Gunstons military aviation books, and think he is the best aviation historian I know. Im wondering if he speaks publicly or makes appearances in the UK? Im also wondering the same about Mike Spick.

Hear! Hear!

Bill Gunston is also my favourite aviation writer. From specialist works (supersonic flight) to individual aircraft stories. You feel well informed and always with a touch (or a lot!) of humour. Very entertaining when he takes on the British aircraft industry. Just read an article about Big Fan Engines. He is indeed still going strong. Kind of a “Renaissance Man”!

Dad knows Bill Gunston…pretty lucky…wish I was in your shoes. If you ever bump into Bill, let him know people like myself owe alot to him.

Yes he does make public appearences, most notably at the local thespians productions. 😀

Seriously though I think he does do the odd speech/dinner here and there.

My Dad knows him fairly well.

As you say he is probably the best know and most respected aviation historian around.

Don’t know anything about this Mike Spick guy I’am afraid.

Cheers

Paul
