Hi, just hada query from a friend of a friend. He’s after a book by Billy Drake called ‘Big Circus” or “Aces High”. I know of Billy Drake Fighter Leader, Big Circus by Clostermann, and Aces High by Shores. I think wires are crossed and Billy Drake’s biography is the only one – anybody know any different please?
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Firebird,
They have changed the screening schedule several times over past weeks.
It looks they are trying to ‘springboard’ the Dunkirk programme which is receiving substantial plugging.
Of course there may be local timing variations within the UK.
I am looking forward to seeing it. It seems like forever ago we were out in France on the ‘dig’.

That’s what I thought Mike. Big Show was ‘Grabde Cirque’ in French – Big Circus – and the request came from a Belgian. I am thinking perhaps he is after all 3 books. I’ll be able to track down copies of all 3, so that’s no problem. Need to verify it first – but at least this question is verified. Thanks Mike.
Look forward to seeing that Mark12. Hope it’s as good as Spitfire Ace.

Look out for a major TV programme about Billy Drake due for transmission in the next few weeks. It was filmed over some 18 months starting with a dig on his old Hurricane in France.
