Biman to MAN?

Reading on other forums (Ahem, Pprune ;)), that Biman will be starting a DAC-MAN-JFK route with a DC10, twice weekly.

Arr from DAC Tu/Sa 1715 dep for JFK 1845
Arr from JFK We/Su 1045 dep for DAC 1215

If it is true, will be wonderful to see DC10s at MAN again!

Anyone know how definite this is?

Taken from www.justplanes.com:

Biman will reduce the frequency of service from Dhaka to New York JFK from the current 2 DC10 flights a week to 1 at the end of the month. The airline also announced plans to reroute its flight from a stopover in Brussels to a stopover in the UK, London Heathrow and/or Manchester

sounds pretty definate.

Oh… that rumour again?

As usual where things MAN are concerned, believe it when you see it. 🙂

This appears to a little bit more concrete as the BG website apparently includes invites for a tender for the supply of JetA1 at MAN from 31/03/06 to 31/03/07. Remember the 3 “trial” DC10s in 1994?

Indeed, I find it hard to believe they think they can make a success of this route considering all the other operators on it! BA/CO/DL/PK and they want to move in on this market!?

It’ll be aiming for the MAN-DAC market as there is a reasonable Bangladeshi population around the Northwest and Yorkshire regions. Any pax on the MAN-JFK-MAN sector can be considered “Bertie Bonuses”.

I highly doubt this will work, but it is an interesting rumour.

Does that mean that the current DAC-BRU-JFK is going?
